I think the Trump Doctrine of blood for blood, no blood for no blood means we don’t respond much.
Unless an American got hurt, in which case we will respond in an overwhelming way.
I think Iran did this to save face..they knew that our military bases would be heavily protected..so they can say “Well we got our retaliation”
