B-52 has been upgraded many times. The Air Frame might be old but the engine and tech is pretty up to date. They even have newer engines in the works for a future upgrade.
I use to work on B-52g, I launch them from Diego back during the first Gulf War.
They plan on going to 4 high bypass turbofans. Looks interesting.
