I remember “potatoe” well. It was misspelled with the “e” as written on the card handed to VP by the teachers. Set Up or stupidity? One or the other but the actual facts of the situation did not get much publicity by the biased media.
I’m going with “set up.”
It’s like Bush 41 and the scanners at the grocery store. The narrative was he was an out of touch elite. That was kickstarted by a NYTimes writer who wasn’t even at the grocer convention with Bush. In reality Bush was being shown a new scanner that could weigh groceries and read mangled and torn bar codes.
