It’s like Bush 41 and the scanners at the grocery store. The narrative was he was an out of touch elite. That was kickstarted by a NYTimes writer who wasn’t even at the grocer convention with Bush. In reality Bush was being shown a new scanner that could weigh groceries and read mangled and torn bar codes.

I don't think that's quite the strategy. If he gets the nomination, he has it. My take is that Hillary's cabal would love it for the convention to be deadlocked on the first ballot, perhaps with Biden in the lead and the rest of the socialist candidates split and at each others throat. Then on the second ballot, the super delegates get to vote, and a white knight candidate can come riding in on her white horse.
My bet is that this will be a brokered convention. The old backroom cigar shtick (or vaporizers, to be modern).

And we keep hearing that he's the Democrats' best bet. Tokyo Rove chimed in on that in a recent piece in The Wall Street Journal.
And potatoe is not necessarily a wrong spelling, either.
Right-and Hillary will make herself part of the process, bank on it.
