They were brought by the military years ago in an ill fated experiment.. Now they clearly are an intrusive and damaging nuisance. Like deer in our suburbs, they don’t belong, and need to be controlled or eliminated.

True but that’s a lot of meat. They usually sell them to Arabs so aren’t the Arabs buying them for meat any more?

True. This problem should have been taken care of long ago not during a national emergency.

The issue here is warming alarmists linking camels to global warming. They never miss an opportunity to create a 'narrative'.

Apparently they have two kinds of camels there. Dromedaries (one hump) and some rare Bactrian camels (two humps).

Dromedaries are common so they can be culled. Bactrian are considered endangered.

If groups like the World Wildlife Fund actually worked to save animals, they should be rounding up the Bactrian and re-introduce them to their native countries.

It would be a shame to slaughter a thriving breading herd of Bactrian but animal rights groups won't lift a finger to save them.
