Trumps foreign policy looks pretty good to me.
[[The president acted directly to defend and to revenge American lives.]]
Exactly (but it’s ‘avenge’)- Ron evidently would be on the sidelines yelling to the Americans being brutalized by the regime, “Stay down, let them punch you- don’t retaliate, don’;t act aggressively, they might not like us anymore if you do”
I agree with Ron Paul on certain things but foreign policy is not his strong suit.
👍🏼
Oxford Dictionary:
verb LITERARY
inflict hurt or harm on someone for an injury or wrong done to (someone else).
“it’s a pity he chose that way to revenge his sister”
“Without any authorization from Congress, he sent a drone or helicopter to assassinate a foreign political and military leader from a country with which we are not at war.”
The Iranian commander was not coming to Baghdad for a vacation.
Let the adults handle this Rand. I get the idea that we don’t want endless wars as well as anyone, but in Rand’s mind, defending Americans from imminent attack is endless war. It’s this kind of thing that makes many people wonder how much Rand really loves his country. He either harbors some hidden disdain for our country or he is dangerously naïve and incompetent.
I always hear Rand, when he’s trying to sound reasonable, claim, and I’m paraphrasing, something to the effect that he’s not against the use of military force, just against it’s inappropriate use. If striking a target to prevent imminent attacks on Americans isn’t appropriate use of force, then nothing is. A President Rand Paul might have been more dangerous than a President Obama. Rand has no business lecturing POTUS about strategy. Rand’s strategy is simple - stand down and surrender.
Rand Paul’s reasoning is like a fart in a skillet. That is, it bounces all over the place.
Our prior foreign policy was not set up to advance the interests of this country - so if that is in a shambles, GOOD!
What makes the Pauls so dangerous is their belief that no other threats or evils exist in the world beyond the Deep State/Military Industrial Complex. EVERY threat to American security is the fault of the Deep State in their minds so we have some obligation to not fight back when some foreign entity targets Americans.
Even if the Iranian regime’s creation is the result, to some extent, of Deep State/CIA machinations that went on in the past, that doesn’t justify not defending American lives. I guess the Paul’s think not defending American lives in the present is somehow appropriate penance for mistakes made by American administrations in the past. Despite his practiced, reasonable demeanor, Rand has a blind spot in his thinking process that prevents him from having a rational response to foreign threats.
Retaliation for aggression is fine; nation building must end forever.
“The US is never going to be an isolationist country again and Paul just doesnt understand that.”
The problem with isolationist is they’re still living in 1787 instead of 2020. Threats that exist half way around the world today due to advances in military technology didn’t exist back then.
The founding fathers did warn against foreign entanglements which I believe pertained to conflicts that weren’t a threat to us. I support not getting involved in them, but threats from countries like Iran do exist, the type of threats that didn’t exist back then. Not only is Iran developing nuclear technology, but its terror network has a far reaching effect across the globe.
Ron is becoming a nut like his father.
That’s why, when he runs for President, you will generally find one place in a town/city where his supporters gather - all 7 of them.
rand is going full ‘tard.
