Me too.
Long story short, I had (and have!) a small US flag in a frame. After the first few days I started making tick marks on the cardboard backing.
444 tick marks later, I wrote a short statement about the release.
I was 16 years old.
On Jan 20, 1981, (day 444) Mrs. abb & I were in the crowd on Pennsylvania Avenue watching Ronald Reagan’s inaugural parade when word spread about the hostages leaving Iran.
One of the more memorable days in my life!
“A Short Statement,”
Okay.
I’ll share Mine first,
I’d wish these
Mullahs Humpers
Would JUMP!
THEN we would see these
52 Piles of
RUBBLE!
Wow. That made a huge impression on you as a teen. Very impressive. While it certainly was/is a huge ordeal...still...you were young. Thank you for sharing that story. Im sure it made your folks proud to know they were raising a patriotic and empathetic young man.
