Gov. Charlie Baker in 2020 ought to move the capital from Boston to Pittsfield.
It is one way he can help deal with the growing traffic congestion crisis and help save the environment. Traffic is strangling Boston and poisoning the air Baker should take his Statehouse staff, the Legislature and the state government with him, turn the historic Statehouse into a museum and make Beacon Hill a car- free zone.

Buddy of mine who lived there for over 30 years (primarily due to his wife) just moved to Maine. Got laid off from Fresenius and got a job up North in Maine. It’s got to be better up there.

No they should move it east to a pylon supported wind generator platform in the Atlantic. That way all of the hot air/wind generated by the leftist massholes in the state government could be put to some use.

Senators and Reps need to actually LIVE in their districts.
We no longer need a physical room to hold them all in one place. They can telecommute. It would make lobbying much tougher if the lobs have to be in 600+ places at once to hire our employees out from under us.

I agree 100%. Most Alaskans will never make it near there. Just the way the bastard politicians like it.
When South Dakota became a state there was a squabble about where the Capital should be located. Sioux Falls, the largest city, was offered either the Capital or the state penitentiary and wisely chose the latter. The selection of the current Capital City , Pierre, was supposedly influenced by one of the railroads who offered free land adjacent to where they were building a bridge across the Missouri River and took a trainload of Legislators with booze and whores to visit the site.
I think Juneau makes sense — as a Massachusetts resident, I would be perfectly happy if our state government moved there.
