"The death of Soleimani is devastating to the regime. No man is irreplaceable, but he comes close given his two decades of operational experience and regional dominance," Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told the Washington Examiner.
In a Twitter post, Dubowitz said Soleimani's death would be bigger than that of Osama bin Laden and ISIS leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi. .

Following the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Soleimani and his unit supported Iraq's Shiite Muslim insurgency. Iran provided the particularly lethal explosively formed penetrators to insurgent groups, a weapon which was capable of penetrating U.S. armor. The Pentagon has attributed at least 500 deaths to Iranian influence during this time.

“Today the United States killed Major General Qassem Soleimani”
On a lighter note (and much less important)...
Julian Castro officially ended his bid for the Democratic nomination for president
Of the 2 events which one do you think is repeated over and over on MSM ... EVEN on FOX? Which one! (jus pisses me off)
I think you mean EFP's.
*** “An honest mistake. We were going after that other powerful Iranian, John French Kerry (who served in Vietnam, if you havent heard)” ***
Missed that POS? Now I am depressed (just a little)
Benghazi - 13 hours begging for help, ambassador dies
Baghdad attack - 13 minutes until help is on the way, 13 hours until the mastermind is dead in a strategic strike.
And this will probably PREVENT a war with Iran.
It means war.
“Did they have the Iraqi governments permission to be in the country?”
Yes
Its all fun and games til that hellfire missile lands on your butt.
Washington post declared him a ‘highly respected military man’ or soem such friggin nonsense- just liek they did with bahgdaddy or whatever his name was-
You are correct ! I cant type tonight
500 American members of our military killed during the Iraq war by these Iranian scumbags.
I’m glad these Iranian terrorists are dead! Thank-you President Trump!
Arguably more important than Bin Laden. Sure, Bin Laden got his well deserved comeuppance but by the time they ‘found’ him he was likely not in operational control of anything beyond his harem. Soleimani was highly active and responsible for far more deaths in total, including some 650 American servicepeople (and thousands more injured) in Iraq and untold others all around the region including thousands of civilians.
It shows what a sickness that Obama’s deal with Iran was. And it puts Europe on notice to stop coddling that regime, that the regime needs to fall. I hope it does not lead to an intractable war. But the Iranian people deserve a chance to vote those religious fanatics out of office and Obama gave them a huge shot in the arm. A single party election, like in China, is barely a pretense to democratic principles.
Good points.
There should have been bombing runs over iran every time an IED went off in iraq.
What’s your take on Iran’s next move?
“There should have been bombing runs over iran every time an IED went off in Iraq”
Absolutely right. The Iranian regime should have been taken out right after Saddam was. Would have saved thousands of lives & billions of dollars and we wouldn’t have had to waste time dealing with their sh&t worldwide.
They are doing the funerals and calling for 3 days mourning. After that, I think there will be some sort of retaliation directly from Iran with proxy retaliatory actions after, who knows where, on a bigger scale. It won’t be just one. It could be in several different countries and other attacks may not happen for months.
Just my guess, looking on past behavior.
Also keep in mind, that there was a reason for the meeting at the airport in 1st place. Whatever that was may still be in play. We took him out knowing that something nefarious was going on. The attack at the embassy may have just been a prelude to something else he was already working on.
I'm glad I asked for your insights... great analysis.
Thank you
