The rubber bullets were used because there might have been a few civilian protestors among the militia. This is still in a foreign country and there are PR issues at work.

Iran and the militia behind this will get their asses kicked. Don't worry about that.

Several thousand “protestors” breeched the outer wall of our embassy. They torched a guard tower and reception area (there are pictures of this on the Internet).

Other countries and adversaries are watching this incident very closely and taking notes. They are measuring our resolve. If we do nothing it could invite similar acts, or worse, elsewhere.

Rubber bullets are a joke to people who only respect strength and power. We had better bring the hammer down or Iran quick.
