the docs don’t catch the disease until it is stage 4. It is almost impossible to detect until stage 4. It is sad.

You might be thinking of Elijah Cummings from Baltimore. He died a short while ago.

It’s actually somewhat longer than that; however, the one-year survival rate for stage-4 pancreatic cancer is about 1%.

Ginsberg’s pancreatic cancer was caught very early only because it was seen in a CT scan while she in for a checkup for her earlier colon cancer.

Stage 4 pancreatic cancer is not survivable. It’s a death sentence.

Prayers for John Lewis and his family. I would not wish pancreatic cancer on anyone.

At this point in his life, our political differences are meaningless.

In my faith, he remains my brother in Christ.

Don’t care for the dude, but I pray for healing for him and his family.

Yes, similar feelings my FRiend. And, this is what separates us from the bloodthirsty Dems (Think K. Griffin and others, here).

I agree with both of you. However, if George Soros got that same diagnosis.......

I’m with you on that vile, evil bastard. He only deserves the very worst.

His current incarnation betrays everything MLK stood for.

When his time is up, it will be Satan making the claim on his soul. Contracts and all, you know.

In a just world, Lewis would have either retired or died years ago while he was sane, not full of hate against conservatives (white and black), promoting racial antagonisms where none existed, and sounding like a fool much of the time.

Time for him to go, retirement or feet first. I respect him for being one of the strongest civil rights leaders of the past, along with Thurgood Marshall and Dr. King. However, in the past few decades, he became a bitter anti-white racist and political fool at hearings. His legacy will unfortunately also reflect that, something that didn’t have to happen.

If he goes now, hope it is fast. I’ve had Pancreatic Cancer Stage 1 but it was caught in time by a medical fluke analysis. The aftermath treatments are hurting me, while the chances of getting it again are very good. Having a great time with my grandchildren. They will be among my finest memories.

Sometimes you’ve just got to stop and enjoy life. Leave your hate behind and be kind while you can. Lewis, unfortunately, never did this.

John Lewis: Bless you for your civil rights work. Damn you for betraying America.

He just found out. I can see him at least start the process to see if it works before stepping down. I think most would. I mean would you immediately quit your job if you had stage 4 cancer? I think you’d at least hold out until you see how things are going.

5 years for House to vest retirement benefits. 1 minute for Senate. Please forgive if this is not accurate.

Simply this. How did he vote on impeachment? For Party, or the Constitution?

You know, the Constitution he swore to "Preserve, protect and Defend"?

One deserves an agonizing death, the other, a quiet passing, the one that all of us has to offer in the end...

Pat Conroy’s peroration at the end of The Water Is Wide remains in effect. As the older generation dies out, the inevitable progress of the next generation becomes more real.
