Lets examine the impact so far of what was widely touted as a historic impeachment of President Donald Trump:
His job approval is back at its highest level since taking office 1,068 long days ago, up six points since the House began impeachment.
Donations to help the billionaires reelection bid continue at a record pace.
Polling support for impeachment and removal from office, which are wildly popular on the Democratic left, has slid to minority support nationally in most surveys.
House support for impeaching the president remains

It’s working to help get President Trump re-elected.
Brad Parscale says internal polls are up almost double digits since Nanny Pelosis tomfoolery started..
I have been tempted to send San Fran Nan a thank you letter for ensuring that Trump wins reelection in a landslide.
While it seems very unlikely the senate won't convict I don't agree that its a certainty. Many of the feckless GOP senators would trun on Trump in a New York minute given the chance to do so. Pelosi already has the senate limbo not knowing what to do. these people are spineless and don't give a crap what their voters want.
Never trust the GOP.
About the only thing it is doing is what they planned for it....it is in the public eye. And the media is going to hammer Trump’s “misdeeds” clear to the election. And like all the other things the house hasn’t done, they will wait until they look completely stupid to send them to the senate just so they can get smash mouthed and blame the conservatives right before the election. That’s all this ever was. A smoke screen. But the wind changed on them and they had to do something, so they took a vote to kick the process down the road.

never trust a rino specifically..:)
Never underestimate your enemy, especially when they have the media on their side. Who would have thought Pelosi would ever be speaker again? But she’s back.
Despite her increasing signs of weakness she’s still a formidable and experienced tactician. Not saying her impeachment strategy is working but her ‘runway’ of tactics is a long way from running out.
And of course she has the luxury of having a weak opponent in the GOP. That’s always an advantage for her.
never trust a rino specifically..:)

I get your point but remember...it was the GOP rank and file that allowed Paul Ryan to effectively retire in place and obstruct the president’s initiatives. And what has the GOP senate done for us lately in terms of constructive legislation and/or hearings to support Trump against the impeachment nonsense?
The GOP has also been promising us smaller government and less spending for lo these many years. How’s that working out for us?
You got that right. The plan the whole time was not to impeach Trump. It was to distract from other nefarious deeds and keep the “Trump is a terrible human being” narrative going in the media to wear down the polls for the election season. They have to be stomped on like cockroaches that they are. If McConnell doesn’t squash this impeachment quickly and the so called Durham report doesn’t come out with indictments, the Rats have a never ending supply of surprises to throw against the wall.
My take on possible reasons for hanging impeachment over the Pres. head.
RBG may die before Nov 2020. With impeachment around a good case could be made the Pres. has no right to nominate a replacement.
They wont convict a President whose re-election is now all but certain.
Every GOP senator running for re-election wants Trump to appear in their state.
Hes political gold! If it was the opposite, I would agree.
Just not in 2020.
“Despite her increasing signs of weakness shes still a formidable and experienced tactician. “
She’s up to something and I am betting it has something to do with a constitutional crisis the rats are creating.
“. . . .it was the GOP rank and file that allowed Paul Ryan to effectively retire in place and obstruct the presidents initiatives.”
What a stupid comment.
It was the Republican ESTABLISHMENT and the conservative think-tank chattering class (i.e., NeverTrumpers) that allowed Paul Ryan to obstruct.
The rank and file had nothing to do with it, unless you are talking about 100,000 voters in Ryan’s Wisconsin district.
The rank and file are the ones who put Trump in office and will reelect him.
It has kept the Left from rejecting the Democrat candidate field and coalescing around a third party candidate. So far...
Arguing that an untried impeachment has any effect on limiting the Presidents powers is not a good case.
PONDER THIS-The deep state is not happy with all the negative attention......
<><> billions in unpaid bribes, graft, and un-laundered money are choking the pipeline.
<><> Business needs to get done.
<><> elected Democrats need to be paid off for official acts.
<><>big donors are holding up the Democrat contributions
Ergo, pressure is being applied. Terms will be met. Deals will be struck.
Watch Nancy, Chuckie & Co. cease and desist soon. They are drawing too much attention.
(hat tip Blackdog)
I was impressed with one look from her and pointing her finger in Congress to her people brought them to “silence”,
My thought. They planned it this way, to hold the impeachment from going to Senate because of the court case they wrote regarding McCahn and his testimony. Court case is to be heard Jan 3rd. If they hadn’t impeached, no reason for the court to decide quickly on the matter. The Dems never do anything without having a fiendish motive.
I will never trust them when people are saying “Oh they mis-played this or that”.
They always have plan a, b,c,d, e, f.....
What a stupid comment.

Thank you for the kind and thoughtful feedback. It always amuses me that some people are so quick to throw out personal aspersions; makes me wonder why they feel the urge to disparage others. Personally, I am more impressed by rational and factual arguments than the proverbial cheap shot. But to each his own I guess.
May I remind you that Ryan was re-elected as Speaker with 236 Republican votes, with only one Republican dissenter. So it clearly wasnt just the ESTABLISHMENT that was the enabler of Ryan. Saying that the rank and file had nothing to do with it is simply untrue. Just look at the vote count.
A very revealing thing to examine is the House Freedom Caucus, whose stated purpose is to support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans. Its safe to say that this group echos most of the principles that are espoused by FReepers. Unfortunately, their membership is only a paltry 30 some odd members. By contrast, its liberal Democrat counterpart, the Congressional Progressive Caucus, has about three times the membership of the House Freedom Caucus.
In other words, committed conservatives are a very small fraction of the Republican Caucus. The reality is that the vast majority of the rank and file go along with the will of the GOP establishment. Its an uncomfortable fact that few Republicans are willing to acknowledge or admit.
OK, now you can go back to lobbing cheap shots.
