Power. Its all about power. Power and people sucking up to you. He doesn’t have any life outside Washington and all the lobbyists sucking up to him. And kickbacks from foreign countries.
Because he doesn’t want to live in Alabama. He enjoys the status, power and elite social networks of a Washington DC Senator, but once he retires he will stop getting invitations to those swank parties and dinners. Live among the plebs and proles in Alabama? How dreary!
