True, but most of the bass and blunder came from Pencil Neck’s disastrous committee. Week after week of utter fails, even while the drivebys tried to make hay from the morning sessions, the GOP shot it to smithereens in the afternoons.

When Sondland finally admitted Trump told him:

“I want nothing. I want nothing, I want no quid pro quo. Tell Zelensky — President Zelensky to do the right thing.”

It was OVER.

For most people, the Nadler hearing came and went VERY quickly before the final vote. Most, if any who followed, followed the Adam Shitt hearings.

That’s when the support for impeachment began to crash mightily. If Nanzi was so politically crafty, she would stopped it then, but they were all in too deep. There was no way they were going to let the Republicans have any more media spotlight—they had to hurry the vote to avoid THAT, or a public cry for that.

My opinion is that Pelosi thought A. Schitt had it in the bag, and was planning on a slow, calculated Nadler-led committee hearing to pound the nails in the coffin.

After Schitt blew it up, she knew they had to hurry the vote... So she came up with that last minute hold of bringing it to the Senate as a stop gap.

Everything she does has BLUNDER written on it but she gets by because the media works to promote rather than expose her.

I watched Doug Jones and Skeltor testify against Trump on and on and now griping about his passing remarks in his speeches.. and praising the religious remarks from the soros backed “Christian Progressive Magazine”.... and it is WHITE evangetical magazine.

Butticheck and Biden are the great choices of the democratic party... I truly wonder what world these people live in.

For most people, the Nadler hearing came and went VERY quickly before the final vote

That was the second, much more famous Nadler hearing. The first Nadler hearing was on October 30th: https://www.congress.gov/congressional-report/116th-congress/house-report/266/1 That was the hearing where a fair impeachment died. Fair is not just a word for Donald Trump's benefit. It's the bedrock of the legal system. Prosecutors cannot hold back or destroy evidence. That's exactly what Nadler allowed on Oct 30th. Impeachment was doomed that day. If the process was fair, it would have had some(modest bipartisan support like the Clinton inquiry had.

Of course Pelosi went along with the Schitt show and figured the selective leaks from the secret hearings amplified by the media would get the public behind it. But instead support fell by about 5 points. The ABC/Post poll reporters lied and said "The public continues to split essentially evenly on whether or not Trump should be impeached and removed from office, with 49% in favor, 46% opposed in this poll, produced for ABC News by Langer Research Associates. That’s virtually identical to the 49%-47% division in an ABC News/Washington Post poll in late October."

In fact in that poll the number "strongly supporting" impeachment fell by 6 points.
