The idiots I know are claiming that they’re trying to put pressure on Pelosi to not put the articles to the Senate until “they can assure that there’s a fair trial.”
Whatever the heck that means.
That has the same legal and practical effect as the Senate insisting on a fair inquiry. That is, it has no effect at all. Each chamber is its own boss on impeachment.
What it means is pretty clear: she’s holding onto hope that the Senate flips next November.
