-- I like the idea of getting SCOTUS involved to put pressure --

I'm of a mind he can beat the House with one hand tied behind his back. No need to use the SCOTUS tag team.

House wants to act stupid? The longer, the better.

Article I: “The Senate shall have the sole power to try all impeachments. When sitting for that purpose, they shall be on oath or affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two thirds of the members present.”

SOLE...POWER...ALL...IMPEACHMENTS

It doesn’t say anything about Members of Congress participating in the Senate trial. They can, if the Senate invites them - but their work is done.

It doesn’t say anything about “sending Articles of Impeachment”.

There is an impeachment. It’s done. It’s a fact.

The Senate now has the power to try it. With or without House managers. With or without it being “transmitted”.

It is urgent national business for the file to be closed. It is the SOLE power of the Senate to do so.

The role of the House is over.
