Yes, I do know about that and about 200 years later, England expelled ALL Jews and didn't allow any back in ( and permitted them to practice their religion openly ! ) until the the mid 17th century.

It was pretty bad, for Jews, in many European nations. Italy made them wear special clothing and made them all life in a walled section, away from Christians, that they called the "GHETTO".
