Days before Donald Trump was to be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, Representative Maxine Waters called for him to be impeached for dubbing his opponent, "Crooked Hillary" during his campaign. Since name-calling doesn't qualify as high crimes or misdemeanors, the impeachment call fizzled, seen as another crazy Maxine rant. That was a mistake.
Just 19 minutes after President Trump was sworn in, the Washington Post announced, "The Campaign to Impeach President Trump Has Begun," this time for being rich. Every day since, networks breathlessly report new impeachment calls for tweeting, for unspoken words, for being an "inciter" of "hatred." There are 98 reasons to date. In fact, the term "impeach" has been so overused that it's losing its authority. It is seen no longer as a pivotal event in our country's history, but rather just as another political battle.

But lack of cause is not an issue because, as Gerald Ford posited, "an impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history.
No, Gerald, impeachment is a constitutional tool to remove a president who behaves in a manner deleterious to public welfare, not to remove a political enemy.
"The Framers meant for the phrase 'high crimes and misdemeanors' to signify only conduct that seriously harms the public and seriously compromises the officer's ability to continue. If the phrase is given a less rigorous interpretation, it could allow Congress to influence and control the President and the courts." Neil J. Kinkopf

Fight for our Republic, my friends. Miracles do not cluster.
“...seen as another crazy Maxine rant.”
No need for the extraneous “crazy”.
Senate Majority leader Turtle should have taken notice and mad a Bold Act in observance of the New House Standards, rallied Every Republican Senator and EXPELLED Schumer and Fineswine from the Senate under the same grounds the House is using to Impeach Trump.
If there is one takeaway from this impeachment charade, it should be that the Democrats no longer feel constrained by decorum, precedent, the constitution, or any boundaries.
They used to do the same things they’re doing now, but only to the level they thought they could get away with because they feared retribution when the balance of power shifted, but now the House is acting as if they will never be out of power again. Basically just like the Executive branch was doing under Obama... Since Hillary would make sure no Republican would ever be elected President again.
yup . . . a redundant redundancy
These clowns have wasted eleven months of the People’s time, money and patience with this nonsense.
Of all the things they could have done in Congress, nothing has been done. Of all the problems that could have been fixed, nothing was.
They proposed nothing, gave nothing to the country, and have nothing to say other than rants without foundation.
*and these clowns want to be in power?
It was always about building a body of rants and innuendos to be used by whomever would become the Dims’ 2020 POTUS candidate. Why? They have nothing else and they must divert voters from the economy.
What waste? The DEMs took over the House, so their tactics work. Next up: the Senate, if they can’t steal the White House in 2020.
Darn, I’ve been enjoying the Dem-whining.
Yep. We don’t need to keep democraps in the Senate using their logic.
The Democrats started in on Trump the day after his election. Trump or the QueenofSourGrapes....it’s laughable.
She must be existentially crazy. /s
I am so sick of this nonsensical political morass from antitrumpers draining the country of patience from an election they lost...it is no wonder they lost, they hate Constitutional America.
Profound and well written piece.
Back when Clinton was in office I had a friend who was a hard core liberal (socialist). When I would point out illegal actions by “the bent one” that were being ignored he would say (more or less) that he didn’t care because Click Willie was a Democrat. I told him that he ought to think about that. No party controls the government indefinitely and crimes by Clinton that were excused would set precedents and allow future Republican presidents to commit similar crimes. I told him that this was a very bad thing.
He didn’t care. Over the years he openly admitted that crimes committed by Democrats, if they helped keep Dems in power (vote fraud in particular) were fine with him.
Time for another Contract With America.
Click Willie = Slick Willie
It’s been a long day.
Democrats in the House are using their political office to meddle with the 2020 election. Their charges? That President Trump used his office to meddle in the 2020 election. The difference? The democrats have admitted that they have to impeach because will lose at the polls in 2020, while President Trump had at the very least a reasonable suspicion to justify his request for an investigation of a potentially corrupt politician (and the democrats have energetically blocked any investigation into whether President Trump’s request had validity because VP Biden already told us that answer).
Yes, someone is trying to manipulate our elections, but that someone is the team of Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and their handlers (probably Soros, Hillary, and other tyrant wannabes), not the duly-elected President of the United States.
Well put and thank you. I’ve been saying this all day.
The impeachment hearings are a sham, a deliberate attempt to meddle in the 2020 re-election of PDJT.
You knew when the Democrats accused the Russians of election meddling that meant the Democrats were, are and would be involved in election meddling.
