Global Warming/Climate Change/Climate Emergency and now Climate Catastrophe. All that’s left is Climate Apocalypse, and then they will have to come out with a new meme in order to:
a) lower your standard of living
b) raise your taxes
c) allow the UN to run you life (closely related to a) )
Most importantly, they are trying to convince people to submit voluntarily (with some success). Young Americans seem more willing to accept they’ll never breed, own homes. own private vehicles, etc. far more than older ones. If these people had lived in the 80s they’d be fighting tooth and nail to maintain some semblance of that standard of living.
I was young then, but any of us that wanted jobs could get them - and use the wages to buy things. I know young people today who are paid exactly the same salary I earned 30 years ago as a teenager - while every single thing costs much more.
