Chief Justice Roberts now dragged into Democrat impeachment process
American Thinker ^ | Ed Timperlake

The target of Democrat zealots in the House of Representatives led by Speaker Pelosi and Adam Schiff is to impeach and remove President Donald Trump. Sadly for him, the person they have a much higher probability of removing from his lofty perch is Chief Justice John Roberts. The famous cliché, the law of unintended consequences, is fast approaching. In an earlier American Thinker blog post, I asked a very simple question of Supreme Court chief justice John Roberts: Mr. Chief Justice, what did you do about the fraud on your Court? He and he alone "owns" the FISC, so he must be held accountable for any court actions.

LOL. Almost everyone not liked by FreeRepublic is being blackmailed, has an FBI file, etc. etc. And it is always obvious, which you cover in your very first two words. The clichés just make it better. It is hysterical and incredibly laughable. I’m laughing hard...thanks, I needed that.

un fortunately there is an element of truth. blackmail and politics go back past recorded history. back when President Clinton took over the presidency there were sevral semi scandals that happened the first year. the one that I always go back to that most have forgotten about is that of Hillery Clinton having her aid Paul Livingstone stopped by the secret service entering the residence with FBI files on the house, senate and Supream court six months after the election. I believe that the Clintons have used Blackmail to gain power from the time he was governor of Arkansas and that it is still used today. I also believe that this use of blackmail is rampant in both parties republican’s and Demacrat polititcions.

“Almost everyone not liked by FreeRepublic is being blackmailed, has an FBI file, etc. etc.”

They probably do have files on them. Hillary didn’t go steal FBI files for no good reason.

I didn’t see or hear about that so I’m not able to comment.

Your post in incoherent. Those FBI files that the Clintons used occurred in the mid 90s, close to 25 years ago. But you completely missed my point.

I repeat, those people that are disliked on this website are always accused of being blackmailed by someone, something but the someone or something is never named. It is psychologically bizarre and now borders on the idiotic to accuse everyone of being blackmailed.

LOL. Yes, I recall the FBI files, but you and everyone doesn't know how they were used and whose files they were. This was over 25 years ago, too.

To believe anyone you don't like is being blackmailed is laughable. It's something you have no clue about and something you can't prove or even begin to prove.

But I do understand it, because you don't understand why other people don't think the way you do. Instead of understanding their point of view, it's just easier to latch onto the belief they are compromised from being blackmailed. It is much easier for your mind to accept that explanation than to actually intellectually understand another point of view.

My dad is similar to you and is unable to comprehend someone with a different point of view and why someone thinks different. There are worse things.

So enjoy your fantasy.

I have believed from the beginning that the corruption, both financial and moral, is so bad in DC that hundreds of people in high places will be exposed and if not jailed, disgraced.

There will be suicides and arkansides before it is over.

I wish I enjoyed your optimism.

If Roberts is removed who takes his place?

When I think of Roberts, it’s about how he flubbed Obama’s swearing-in and call for a do-over in private. There was something really phony about the whole thing.

If the Constitution says the trial must be overseen by the chief justice, as stated in the article, the parties will have grounds to argue for and against the interpretation that the acting chief justice is not the chief justice...therefore requiring a new chief justice.

I certainly take no sides as I am not competent to argue the point, but it is interesting and I am hopeful.

If Roberts is disqualified then Thomas would not be CJ, but would preside over the senate trial as the senior associate justice

The Constitution says that the Chief Justice will preside. If Trump decides to question Roberts about the FISC, there will be pressure for Roberts to step down. The next conflict of interest; can Trump appoint his own Judge? It is a mess. What if they have to go outside of their tight circle to find a prosecutor who is not a material witness? Can they call Trump's lawyer? It should be fun.

you are a fool if you think that people do not have info held over them...what do you think the Epstein child sex scandal is about...justice Roberts is the easiest to see that something is not right with...and those files referd to were all current legislative and supream court of that time and of course we have no clue how they were used but the one thing we do know is that they should not of been in that persons possession... this has nothing to do with not believing that someone can hold a counter opinion most republicans do not agree on a lot of stuff in politics.

The President gets to choose his replacement once the Senate votes to remove the Chief Justice.

What a loon...a late night laugh.

Again small minds want to believe that everyone should agree with them and your mind is so small, you can't even begin to understand why someone thinks or believes differently - so therefore, it must be (gasp) blackmail. Oh my!

If you offer proof, solid proof, I will consider it, but you offer nothing - just a bizarre rant about Epstein. You would get laughed out of court and jailed for false charges.

Get a grip on your life and intelligently consider issues. Have some self respect and if you can't prove what you write, perhaps just stay silent.

did I not say that every on I disagree with is Black mailed I understand that everyone has a difrent view on things... I happen to believe something’s up with john Roberts in how he rules on the supream court. it does not mean I am right because other then circumstantial shit that can be interpreted many ways there is no hard proof ... you seem to think its impossible to be going on and in my view its small minded... blackmail is the oldest game in politics.

Politics is about power over others and if you don’t think that intelligence agencies or private individuals don’t seek to find compromised people and exploit them you are naïve.
