I just finished Season 3 of Crown. The Queen says “she knows there is something wrong with her that she can’t cry”. She didn’t even cry at Aberfan. She was a cold, indifferent, no humor Mum to her 4 kids. I think Charles took the brunt of it mostly. He never measured up in Philip’s eyes as a “man’s man”.

THE CROWN ( which I do not watch, but have read about ), is a whole LOT of fiction overlaied onto factual history. There were a couple of articles about this, over the weekend, in the Daily Mail newspaper.
