It’s not that simple, there are equipment costs, and much more. If you put a 'cruit on the ground, straight out of basic training, you're already in the hole for 7 figures. Then there are all the 6 figure contractors feeding and supporting him. Then there's full medical, dental etc. for the troop and his entire family. This is all before equipment/weapons/improvement costs.
175k per soldier is a fkn joke.
