It’s called Negotiating.>

Looks like negotiations broke down.

They are notorious for adding sentences above the signatures.

Koreans have no ethics by our thinking. The signed contract is the beginning of negotiations

If South Korea goes over to China for $4 billion dollars, that itself is significant.

If South Korea goes over to China because they feel that they can't count on the U.S. then that's even more significant.

A lot of 'negotiating' is Kabuki Theater, meant for domestic consumption.

The US should write up a plan to move the SK-based US troops and aircraft between Guam and Alaska. Then start an exit plan of 3,000 personnel every quarter.

The war has been over for 66 years. South Korea is stable. We should leave.

Move all those troops to the Mexico border, and crush the cartels

If I was SK, I’d have gone nuke as soon as Kim did.

I think the cat is out of the bag on nukes, everyone’s gonna have them.

There’s no real value, either way, for an SK to China link up.

This is all about another long term parasite getting called on its abusive relationship and pulling a pout and throwing a tantrum.

F*** ‘em.

Pull our troops home.

Last ship out, txt lil Kim “Hey, SK not our friend no more. Do what you gotta do.”

Foreign dumbasses need to get broke off of the habit of us being weak sucks that they can use until we’re ruined.

And if they don’t want to, they face a simple choice - pay the US what it wants, or let China tell them what to do in perpetuity.

Third choice is to recognize they're on their own and do what they can to protect their interests.

Do we still have dedicated troops there? My grandson’s brigade is on a rotation there now. They return to Fort Hood this spring.

So if we pull our forces out of South Korea and Japan then we could recognize significant cost savings. Since we no longer need those troops to protect either country we could downsize the military and either use the savings to lower the deficit or else for the border wall. Winner for us.

Sounds like this is more than kabuki theater. No way that South Korea will accept a 400% increase in their contributions, not after having agreed to an increase this past February. The U.S. should start the packing and moving now.

Absolutely! US troops only provide a target in SK, not a defense. SK is a bazillion times richer and stronger than NK, so it’s time they provided their own defense.

How about bring them home, discharge them, and boost the economy with thousands of qualified employees that corporations keep saying they have a shortage of? If we don't need them to defend Korea or Japan then we don't really need them anymore, do we?

I disagree with that. I think there are millions of reasons why China and South Korea could move closer, all of them north of the DMZ and south of the Yalu.

Last ship out, txt lil Kim “Hey, SK not our friend no more. Do what you gotta do.

Which isn't much, given the decrepit condition of the North Korean military.

Foreign dumbasses need to get broke off of the habit of us being weak sucks that they can use until we’re ruined.

If there really is no benefit to us in the U.S/South Korean alliance then yes, we need to leave now.

[China and South Korea have one thing in common, a fear that if North Korea deteriorates, both countries would be flooded with millions of refugees they can’t handle.]

Just because the retards in the media keep repeating this absurd excuse for giving freebies to North Korea doesn’t mean anyone should believe them. North Korea’s entire population could move to China, and that would be 2% increase in China’s population. We have an illegal alien population of 30m, almost 10% of the total #, and we’re doing just fine.

Did business in Asia for over 30 years and when explaining to others the differences in character among the three main East Asian ethnic and linguistic groups, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, I used the aliens on Star Trek for comparison.

Japanese are a bit like Vulcans. They're outwardly extremely polite, calm, and very restrained (except after consuming alcohol, but that's another set of stories). But one has to listen for what they aren't saying and certain "tells" to try and determine what they're really thinking. Doing successful business with them requires time an loads of patience.

Chinese are like Ferenge. They're straight forward, a bit devious, and mainly focused on making money and, after a long day, enjoying very long meals of good food and drink, and accommodating female companionship. For Americans they are the easiest to do business with because as long as the prices and products are right, and they can make money, everything's good.

I always compared Koreans to Klingons. They don't hide their feelings and can be very emotional. If you do or say something that pisses them off you'll know it right away. And you can't let them steam roll you.

This article would indicate that whoever Trump has running the American side of these talks knows how to deal with our Korean friends. They will bluster and emote, but in return you have to be just as blunt. As you pointed out, this is NEGOTIATING, deal making, and bluff calling. An art, really, so it's good to know we finally have some people with stones, experience, an understanding of the nuances, and care for OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS working on our behalf.

Wondering if we (Trump) are threatening to withhold aid? That is blackmail, ya know.

Where is Schiff? Someone should tell him.
