It's actually pretty amazing. I took a look at the RCP tracking history.

His approval on the day he took office: 44.3
His approval as of 11/20/2019: 44.0
His record high: 46.0 on 2/4/2017
Hi record low: 37.2 on 12/15/2017
He started the year at 42.7 on 1/1/2019
So his approval is up 1.3% from the start of 2019.

He's always been "underwater" except for maybe his first week in office. His highest underwater was something like -21% on 12/15/2017. His current underwater number is -9.4%.

Considering the media onslaught, his numbers are seem pretty amazingly stable to me.
