When Nunes told Vindman that he could answer the question or invoke the fifth amendment, Vindman's lawyer said that they were operating under the rules set forth by the chairman (Schiff). Nunes ask "which rule was he referring too". The lawyer stumbled and said that they were operating under the direction of the chairman. Schiff then interrupted.

No rules, just the whims of the chairman.

I’m sure that they’ll follow up during questioning.

They already have holes in Vindman’s testimony. It’s just a matter of time.

Is anybody watching vindman’s lawyer? He looks more nervous than Vindman. If his client doesn’t follow the script he, the lawyer, might have his ass in a sling too.

Schiff rule: You can talk about it so long as it doesn’t reveal what a partisan coup this is under my guise.
