Google exercises more direct control over search results than it has admitted, report claims

Google has changed its search algorithm to alter search results in ways it has publicly denied in the past, a new investigation from The Wall Street Journal finds.

The report could add fuel to conservatives’ claims of bias and censorship by Google based on how it determines what content surfaces in its search engine and on its video platform, YouTube.

CNBC reports Thursday that the 50 state attorneys general probing Google are planning to expand their investigation into Google’s search and Android businesses.

"Google lies so much they make the Clintons appear honest."

Although I agree with your general sentiment, nothing makes the Clintons appear honest.

The fact that advertisers can pay to have front page hits makes this article moot.

This should not pose a hardship for FReepers. There are many search engines out there besides google. I’ve been using duckduckgo since forever.

It’s comical that the general response to this is how it affects one personally. The point is, google is overwhelmingly the most used search engine. Google, and other major internet sites such as youtube, twitter, facebook, etc, are using their social media near monopolies to influence the upcoming election. They know swing voters generally decide elections. Swing voters likely get their information from these sites. If these sites can control the information on their sites, they will influence a high percentage of swing voters to vote, oh, lets say democrat. But that could be wrong, maybe they’re just tyring to inconvenience conservatives.

When they scream about interference in elections, you know they are trying to interfere in elections.

Do a Google image search on “American Inventor” and tell me there is no bias.

A search on DuckDuckGo will produce volumes more results than the limited & biased Google results. It doesn’t leave a history either.

Forget Google

I knew that. I’ve seen how google changes your search string into something that it likes more.

Try:
blacks killing cops. Changed to “cops killing blacks”

muslim violence. Changed to “violence against muslims”

That is proof that google deliberately and intentionally changes search results to promote leftist, anti-White ideology. They know what they are doing.

No surprise here. The claim by Google mouthpieces not too long ago that their algorithms were impossible to manipulate caused some serious head-scratching among those with even a superficial understanding of how they work. Of course they can be manipulated, they're algorithms.

This sort of manipulation is not the product of any individual and it isn't a one-off. It's a deliberate and elaborate program of thought control by multiple individuals who know exactly what they're doing, and not just at the Google level: there are companies who sell search engine "optimization" as a service.

It's sad but the informed consumer is simply going to have to learn to allow for it. Use of multiple search engines helps (a little) but it isn't only search engines; in fact such resources as Wikipedia (I'm a donor and I love it, but it's a fact) have been rendered altogether undependable with respect to political topics by too many nasty little termites nipping away at the infrastructure in order to "control the narrative" and "get their message out". Liars, in short.
