White House releases transcript of Trump’s first call with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensk
The White House on Friday released the transcript of President Trump’s first call with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky – in which he congratulated him “on a fantastic election.”
The president had promised several times to release the transcript of the April 12 call, which he described as more important that the one about two weeks later in which Trump asked Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
That call prompted a whistleblower complaint that led Democrats to launch an impeachment inquiry. The probe centers on whether Trump abused his power by withholding almost $400 million in security aid to put pressure on the US ally.
“I’d like to congratulate you on a job well done, and congratulations on a fantastic election,” Trump told Zelensky.
“As you can see, we tried very hard to do our best. We had you as a great example,” the Ukrainian leader said.
Trump continued: “I think you will do a great job. I have many friends from Ukraine and they think – frankly – expected you to win. And it’s really an amazing thing that you’ve done.
“I guess, in a way, I did something similar. We’re making tremendous progress in the US. We have the most tremendous economy ever. I just wanted to congratulate you. I have no doubt you will be a fantastic president.”
Zelensky said his country is “an independent country, and independent Ukraine – we’re going to do everything for the people.
“You are, as I said, a great example. We are hoping we can expand on our job as you did. You will always, also, be a great example for many. You are a great example for our new managers.”

Not exactly, the call prompted a SPY to Illegally Conspire with Adam Schiff and his Staff in Direct Violation of Federal Law before taking the newly hatched conspiracy to Overthrow the United States Government to the ICIG to file a bogus complaint that the Demonrats used to launch an impeachment inquisition..
I wonder if Slo Joe decided to run for President BECAUSE the corruption in Ukraine was going to be exposed ?
As I recall, this is a mis-characterization of the request. Trump asked for investigation of 'Cloudstrike,' an operation conducted by the DNC and the Ukraine. Zelensky brought up the topic of Biden...

I remember that Joe wasn’t running for office, his son had recently died, and nobody wanted him to run.
Then, all of a sudden he announces his candidacy and says his dead son would have wanted him to run.
I think it was the DEMS who came to him and said, “sorry bout your dead son, but you gotta run or we all go down for the UKRAINE scam”.
That’s why the DEMS are protecting Joe by saying that Trump is just doing this to eliminate his opponent. Which is odd considering Nobody knows who is going to be the winner of the DEM CONVENTION.

Cloudstrike is a tech company that does systems security
The FBI hired them to review the DNC server hack which crowd strike blamed on Russians
The theory is that Crowdstrike being a Silicon Valley outfit is a bunch of lefties who cooperated with Comey to try to smear Trump by saying Russia hacked the server to help their stooge Trump
The issue is why did Comey use a third party when the FBI has its own folks
Legend has it the server is in the Ukraine
Roger Stones bloviating has pushed the narrative

My worry is that its a BAAAAD precedent not that it was a bad or illegal call. How do future presidents conduct negotiations if there can be no expectation of confidentiality?
