If Cornyn expects that impeachment will ultimately fail, and that view is held by the majority in the senate, why the neck not dismiss the charges immediately and not put the country through a sham impeachment?

There are things that the senate needs to follow through to the end, but a sham impeachment, totally biased and without a crime, is a completely foolish endeavor.

Cornyn and republicans and some not-so-crazy democrats, need to get some common sense into their heads.

You want to know how much of a sham it is? This morning Schiff would not even recognize Jim Jordan when Jordan raised a point of order - several times. The iron-clad rule is that if a member of the committee raises a point of order, EVERYTHING stops until that point of order is clarified. Schiff is so deranged in his attempt to get rid of Trump that he cannot even abide by the most basic of rules. This is a TOTAL sham - and the Republicans should definitely vote to dismiss the entire thing out of hand if it ever gets to the Senate.
