A second U.S. Embassy staffer in Kyiv overheard a cellphone call between President Donald Trump and his ambassador to the European Union discussing a need for Ukrainian officials to pursue “investigations,” The Associated Press has learned.

This whole thing makes no sense. They are impeaching the President for being the President. How does one “overhear” the President’s call?

Did Trump make this call on a party line?
The idea that military aid was part of the conversation is completely disproved by the call transcript. Also,witnesses have testified that the Ukraine government did not know that the aid was on hold until it was publicly reported at the end of August.
That part of the quid pro quo is no longer believable so they're now hoping that the idea that Trump asked to have a rival investigated is all they need.
The existence of the treaty will take care of that part, too. By next week, there will be brand new allegations that haven't even been reported yet.
Like the other eavesdropper, this additional eavesdropper heard one side of a two way conversation and the full transcript of that conversation has already been released. The media and the Democrats are in desperation mode... They keep yelling ‘wolf’ and everybody else keeps yawning.
So, how did these people know who was on the other end of the conversation? They didn’t. They assumed it was Trump but they can not state with certainty it was DJT. Just sayin.
This is becoming more and more like the Kavenaugh hearings. As things go bad for the dems more last minute “witness” emerge from the woodwork.
Except in the Kavanaugh case they were accusing him of rape. In this case they are accusing him of investigating corruption.

Trump likely didn’t say “Investigation”. He said “Infestation”. “There is an INFESTATION of Deep State operatives I am fighting.” That is what he said.
Excellent questions. President Trump knows that all of his telephone calls are monitored anyway. If the call was on speakerphone in a public place, the person taking (or making) the call should be fired immediately.

2. “the investigations.” WHAT investigations? Which investigations? The ones where Ukraine tried to meddle in our elections?
