Agreed. Back in the early 60’s and had aspirations of Engineering, Electrical in my case, IT wasn’t even invented as a career,you had Trig with a ‘dusting’ of Calc in your senior high school year. I went to a regular H/S nothing fancy. I doubt if these courses are even taught in H/S today.
