On a tour with my mom in ‘62 we crossed at CheckPoint Charlie for a tour of the eastern side. "Some of the East German police were rude and suspicious. Others were suspicious and rude."
"One, Two, Three" one of my all-time favorite movies.

It amazes me that people successfully conflate a wall designed to keep people out with a wall designed to keep people in. Reminds me of the movie "Goodbye, Lenin" where they put together a fake newscast to make it look like people were fleeing West Berlin for East Berlin. That's another of my all-time favorite movies.

Yes they were. LOL! Being a 15 year old with blondish hair in ‘62, they headed straight to me at the back of the bus when the came on board on the east side of the border. I was thinkin’ “No, I’m not trying to sneak IN to east Berlin.” LOL! Surprised you remembered that from the past.
