Is there a “Lee” surname in Korea?

I always thought Asians with the surname “Lee” were Chinese.

Yes; it’s common in Korea, although sometimes pronounced “Ree”.

It’s the same as the Chinese name, meaning “plum” (李); it was also Bruce Lee’s surname (the Lee spelling is prevalent in Hong Kong due to British influence I suspect; the Pinyin transliteration is Li).
