U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) announced a new bill on Wednesday, the Family Friendly Schools Act, to make school days longer by a total of three hours.
The presidential candidate wants to start the school day by at least 8 a.m. and end it at 6 p.m. in order to, among other things, align with working parents schedules more sufficiently.

money? just throw a few more taxpayers on the fire...
My wife was a teacher and she says a school hour is equal to 45 minutes. Five minutes to settle down, 5 minutes of random disrespectful disruptions, and 5 wasted minutes at the end when kids loose interest. Then there are multiple shortened days for administration to have various assemblies.
Then she had to deal with mentally handicapped kids being mainstreamed because special ed is too expensive or libs dont like it. Sum it up school is pretty much a big waste of Time. Then you have to deal with parents who believe all problems with their precious babies is caused by teachers.
BTW in 20 years she never heard any parent bad mouth any administrator who actually caused the problems with unrealistic expectations and demands.
If you’re a student, well 6 hours is too much. 10 hours leaves no time to do outdoor activities after school. I guess you just go to school, come home eat and go to bed.
LOL!
Rimshot,cymbal crash*
Yeah, right?
Haha.....school memories. It was 1960 and I was in
the 4th grade and it was Nixon vs Kennedy for POTUS.
The slimy little Demobrats passed around a rumor
claiming that Nixon was going to make us go to school
year around if he was elected. Stuff doesn’t change
much on that front.
Yeah, the teachers Union is going to approve a contract with 3 more hours a day in it. Hahahahaha assle off
Sorry laughed my Hasslehoff at the thought.
Ba-Da-Boom!
These top down political federal mandates have zero to do with improving education.
