Kamala Harris doesn’t know her behind from a hole in the ground about education. After a typical length school day, kids get squirmy and are not amenable to extra hours of sitting in a chair listening to a teacher. Teachers have other things to do, like care for their own children and write lessons for the next day. A lot of teachers went into teaching because they get out a bit earlier than other people and avoid traffic, or have time to run errands. That all would be destroyed by the proposed new legislation. And, where is cash-strapped Crazyfornia going to get additional funding to pay teachers to stay so much later? Riddle me THAT, Batman!
Not the point of conversation.
I mean just look at what they can do:
Kamala Harris can slow the rotation of the earth.
Obama knows how to stop the rising of the oceans and heal the planet.
Hank The Imbecile Johnson from Georgia knows how to keep the island of Guam from flipping over.
And AO-C can stop the planet from burning to a crisp if we just live a Stone Age lifestyle.
The democRATS are truly amazing.
These after school hours don't need teachers there but rather care
takers for the students until pick up time. Activities would have to
be arranged for the three hours or so and enough workers to be on
site to provide and supervise the activities. It would require
school's to change things but most things can be done if it proves
to be beneficial.
Do you not think it comes naturally?
You are off topic. :-D
At least there is some Constitutional backing for this:
Article I Section 8:
To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;"Post Roads" was generally understood to mean main roads between major towns.

Yeah but normally someone this stupid doesn't have the power of speech.
“......Its burn out. Kids need to play and if they cant do it while they are kids, they will do it later......”
........
Agreed. In Japan the pressure on kids is very high. For boys, it’s to get to university. For girls, it to get married.
A wise old friend from New Zealand pointed out to me one day while shopping. ...He said. Something like, “the kids even play polite “.
Japan has its own demons to slay. But to get back on topic, education is vital to human progress.
I always said school has just become glorified day care. She confirms it. I am not opposed to an 8-6 school schedule. I am opposed to government monopoly on education.
Anyone remember the Schoolhouse Rock "I'm Just a Bill" cartoon? Didn't it have the federal government making traffic laws for local school buses? Just warming the kids up for the death of federalism.
Why not 24/7/365? Then Common Core could really turn them into Demonicrat zombies.
i’m sure the teachers union will have a thing or two to say about that...
100%
25 hours instead of 24? Love that headline!
Just think of Treasure of Sierra Madre...Harris saying, “Constitution??? We don’t need no stinkin Constitution”
Of course every Dem believes this too.
Uh oh, she is stepping all over Pocahantas’ plan to have free childcare.
My wife teaches at a Catholic pre-school. (She’s Catholic, I’m not.) She gets up at 5 am. Best case she’s home at 3:30 pm, but much more likely is 4:30 pm, and sometimes things run later than that. The drive to work and back is about 25 minutes each way. Maybe once a week she stops to pick up food or something on the way home - most days, it’s straight back home. Then she spends most of her evenings doing lesson plans, etc. I do 95% (at least) of my own cooking, these days, and sometimes cook for her and our daughter too, do dishes, etc. (As if I wasn’t busy already!!!)
Kamala wants to add 3 hours to THAT? Kids will rebel (Hey, maybe that’ll generate a new generation of Dem haters!), and teachers will too, unless MANY more teachers are hired. As others have pointed out, where’s the money for that? Ok, granted, that question never slowed down a lib or socialist...
This isnt India. We have something called Federalism and local control.
Put children more and more under the control of public authorities with all the efficiency of the USPS and all the compassion of the DMV.
It deserves to be said by 10,000 voices, 10,000 times. Get your kids and grandkids out of these damned Soviet day-orphanages known as public schools.
