Andy Beshear, Who Fundraised With Abortionist, Defeats Pro-Life Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin
LIFE NEWS ^ | Nov 6, 2019 | Steven Ertelt

Posted on 11/06/2019 4:41:30 AM PST by Morgana

Kentucky voters had a clear choice in the gubernatorial race when it comes to abortion politics today. And in the end the pro-life governor who served women and unborn children so proudly went home in defeat to a Democrat who fundraised with an abortionist.

Republican Gov. Matt Bevin has a strong pro-life record by defending unborn babies and cracking down on abortion businesses for not following the law. His opponent, Democrat Andy Beshear, has a radical pro-abortion stance. As state attorney general, he refused to defend a Kentucky law that protects unborn babies from abortions after 20 weeks.

Voters unfortunately did not reward Bevin’s strong pro-life record by sending him back to the governor’s mansion.

With 99% of the vote counted, Beshear defeated Bevin by a 49-48 percent margin.

Bevin has a strong record of protecting unborn babies and mothers from abortion. He has cracked down on abortion clinics, ensuring that they meet health and safety regulations. In 2016, his administration took legal action against Planned Parenthood after its new Lexington facility began aborting unborn babies without a license. That facility still is prohibited from aborting unborn babies.

As governor, Bevin has signed multiple pro-life laws, including measures to ban abortions after an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, protect unborn babies with Down syndrome from discrimination and protect unborn babies from brutal dismemberment abortions.

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said Bevin is a pro-life hero, and the Kentucky abortion lobby is trying desperately to unseat him. Her organization is working to inform voters in Kentucky ahead of the election.

In contrast, Beshear has a pro-abortion record and recently participated in a fundraiser with a Kentucky abortionist. In 2017, he refused to defend a Kentucky law that protects unborn babies by banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Time to dust off the old axiom: “They can’t cheat if it ain’t close”

So sad...

“Seriously.

People act like you have to have an unbroken string of wins or else they will sin the corner and cry like a 10 year old girl.

And they arent even conceding the race. So some of these people need to calm down.

At least we know who are going to be the biggest PITA meltdown queens in 2020.”

Couldn’t agree more. There are literally thousands of political offices in the US and when we barely lose just one everyone goes into freakout mode.

And there’s the story the MSM doesn’t want you to hear. The GOP in KY has a deep, deep bench; plenty of viable candidates for the next governor’s race in 2023, and to maintain a stranglehold on 90% of the statewide offices—and the state legislature.

KY’s new attorney general is a star in the making. Don’t follow Kentucky politics very much, and had not heard of Daniel Cameron before. But if you want to see the first African-American governor of the Commonwealth, he will be n the AG’s office for the next four years. And I hope he can give Andy Beshear a taste of the harassment campaign he mounted against Matt Bevin.

And it’s not just KY; GOP did the same thing in MS, and in the “jungle primary” in Louisiana last month. Swept the down-ballot races, and with a little more help from DJT, they can flip the governor’s mansion in Baton Rouge in a couple of weeks.

Once again, too many Republicans stayed home. People don’t understand we need turnout to defeat the cheating.

I was talking with a friend last night, a Kentucky attorney, who said that Bevin was very unpopular, especially with the public school teachers and their union. He said that the teachers pension is woefully underfunded, because of Democrats’ involvement with it in the past. Apparently Bevin tried to rehabilitate it, but it would have meant the teachers would have to put some skin in the game, and the teachers revolted. They squealed enough to bring some fence-sitters over to their side, the result of which is that Beshears won by only 5,000 votes.

Public school teachers and their Marxist unions have destroyed public education in this country. Had my wife and I had any children we never would have sent them to a public school, ESPECIALLY in Illinois.

On the bright side, all other major state races in Kentucky went to Republicans.

“What has happened to our country, our culture, our society? Why don’t people want decency, beauty, goodness and truth?”

That ship has sailed, I’m afraid. Gird up for the final fight, as it is now inevitable.

Thanks to Ted “The Swimmer” Kennedy, a reprobate if ever there was one.

Bevin was a terrible candidate. The GOP needs to stop being shills for immigrant cheap labor and saying that opposition to lowering living standards is “Socialism” or they will get crushed in 2020.

I wouldn’t get too choked up over this one.

Ain’t that the truth.

Trump dragged Bevin's carcass. Without PT, he loses by 5 to 6.

It will be. If the Republicans cannot come up with a way to counter the Democrat’s voter fraud.

“His problem is that he picked one too many fights with the public sector unions who then spent a buttload of money to defeat him.”
This is what I think as well. Bevin was so on the right track but then he angered ,in particular, the Teacher’s Union in KY. Living as I do in a very heavily unionized state, New York, I am familiar with the union tactics and their incessant lobbying. They will stop at nothing to push their agenda.

You make excellent points. This one does not pass the smell test. I wasn’t there and know nothing of how the campaign went but in many of these races that Republicans lost last time, there was tons of Soros money pouring into the races and the candidates misrepresented themselves as reasonable people. In many cases they used veterans to win votes.

“Let’s face it: There was a reason we didn’t let non land owners, foreigners, the young, and women vote.”
You know I had to chuckle at your response because I often have thought the same thing even though I am a woman. Women can be so vicious and act almost entirely from emotion, electing candidates who they either find attractive or supportive of feminist goals. Most women would vehemently deny this but it is true. Nearly every female vote for a Democrat is done to protect their ability to terminate a pregnancy. They never think of the life they are ending, they only think of the inconvenience to themselves.
