Until an impeachment vote is held in the House to start the inquiry...there is no impeachment. The pretender-game here, is that you will conduct secretive hearings....stage some type of paperwork to create charges, and then ‘suddenly’ have a impeachment inquiry done (in a matter of minutes and not weeks).
I now believe that when this happens, and McConnell is handed the package, there will be a up and down vote a day later, and the package will be refused until the inquiry is done in the recognized ‘correct’ manner. They will hand it back to a courier to deliver to Nancy Pelosi, and she’ll say the House’s job is done. The Senate will be blamed because they can’t handle 4th-grade kid operation of impeachment that the House conducted.
I’ll also point this out. In a normal impeachment, the House is supposed to do the leg-work...using their powers, and the evidence is supposed to be part of the total package given to the Senate. The Senate is supposed to review the facts and testimony and decide upon some or zero amount of guilt. If the House doesn’t do their job, and McConnell tries to continue on with this...the Senate would be log-jammed for three or four months...having individual Senate committees doing the work that the House refused to conduct. In simple terms, every witness would be recalled, and the potential for false testimony goes to mammoth proportions.
In this case, the Senate could be standing there with half of the whole House package in pieces and everyone shaking their heads because the whole thing looks like one of the K-cars from Chrysler. They’d be unable to vote for the impeachment or against it....because nothing makes sense anymore.
They have already eld three votes, which went down in flames. If they would have done a fourth vote so close on the heels of the third, it would have failed spectacularly as well. This is why a handful of power-hungry DemocRATs have decided to go forward with their farce and will not vote.
I think Nancy Pelosi dug herself into a corner when she announced an impeachment inquiry timed right after the “news” of a “whistleblower” hit the MSM. She and Schiff-for-brains had counted on the transcript of the phone call remaining secret. They did not count on the President releasing it. How can they back down from their fake narrative without losing face?
