Bottom line, if you read Florida statutes, the Senate was totally within their per view to do what they did.

You may disagree with the underlying justification but the statute indeed gives the Senate wide latitude to remove a Sheriff for just about anything or for that matter nothing.

Someone posted the statutes on an earlier thread and they are quite clear on this matter.
