See my post 34, sorry for bad info.
I lived in Broward County ‘72-’19, until last year.

BSO did have a practice of letting deputies drive seized vehicles painted and BSO livery.

A lot of BSO deputies are retired LEO from the Northeast earning another pension.

They brought many corrupt practices with them, adding an extra layer of sometimes more sophisticated practices to the good old boy corruption native the region.

Broward is also an “open city” for the Mob, making it a desired retirement area for Wise Guys who continue to run scams in the Sunshine State.

Sounds like that may meet the definition of the "standing army" the Founders were concerned about. Matter of fact it looks like Broward is in the grip of a corrupt de facto police state.
