The only further left candidate would be the NDP leader or perhaps the almost non existant Green party. Both of them have close to zero chance of forming a government. Only two parties have ruled Canada the PMs Liberals and the Conservative party. The Conservative party went through some gyrations a while back but its the only viable alternative. If Trudeau falls it will be to Andrew Scheer who is the Conservative party leader.
