What is your take on an outcome for this situation?
I won’t be surprised if Gantz is able to put together a coalition. I can’t help but think a large part of Bibi’s inability to do same is both animosity and perhaps weariness of the length of his service. A third election, I’d expect him to be weaker, though were I running one of the holdout parties, I’d take advantage of this opportunity to share power. And who knows, Gantz wan’t willing to join a coalition with Likud, but if he fails at his attempt, he might change his mind. Would probably be smarter than holding out for a third election.
It’s interesting to note that, from the view of the left, Bibi is evil. And yet the only Prime Minister to halt building to pursue “peace”, “peace” in Obama’s view. To no avail. Similarly recall the “evil” Sharon, who personally expelled Jews from their homes in the Sinai, and withdrew from Gaza. For nothing in return, other than the hope of peace. Misguided perhaps, but it doesn’t appear to be Likud, aka evil conservatives, unwilling to take risks.
