Wrong. So very wrong. The U.S. Civil War, though terrible, cleansed the nation from some very bad thinking and the evil of slavery. As a result the nation grew stronger, became the finest nation on earth, and saved western Civilization from totalitarianism.
We are in sorry need of a renewal, and if cleansing is needed, so let it be.
