It’s the right move.
Give the Kurds a CAP .
Air cover
Publically state that “Our Kurdish allies
will retain the power and ability to call in
airstrikes, in their own defense “
“Its the right move.”
How about moving the troops to defend America’s borders for a change?
Were going to disengage from a conflict in Syria by bombing a NATO ally?
The Kurds have been our most loyal ally against ISIS, they've directly provided intelligence and physical troops against them. None have fought harder than the Kurds.
To abandon them now (and again .... ) would send a VERY BAD signal to Turkey, Russia, China and ISIS - who has not been completely destroyed. There are thousands of ISIS prisoners in jails that are guarded by the Kurds. If we walk away from the Kurds now, who would want those thousands of ISIS prisoners to simply walk free once Turkey invades that part of Syria? They'll re-constitute and the war we thought we won would start anew.
I don't like war, and I don't like our troops being all over the place as much as the next guy. I'm simply stating the facts here. No way in hell we should abandon the Kurds.
To those who'll no doubt call me a war monger for this stance, I ask you: why do we still have troops in Germany? France? Italy? Spain? Poland? Elsewhere? You support them being there, why?
