If Congress is for sending Americans into Syria, then let them vote for it.

"And are these the same Kurds that were around during the Saddam era"

They are, and they had advance knowledge of this, and are tucked back up in the hills daring Erdogan to 'come get some' without NATO air support or American intel.

Really, the only question here is what happens to Daesh prisoners - and again I say, the very few with Turk blood or family money will be conscripted, and the rest will meet a horrific fate.

Uh, why Japan?

If it's a country that's not our own or one of our protectorates, we don't need to be there. The world is not our problem unless we or our interests are directly attacked. We can get where we need to be quick enough. We don't need our boys and girls permanently there.

I say this as a former naval line officer who has spent time in several of these sh*tholes.

It's time to come home. It's time -- FINALLY -- to heed Washington's warnings about foreign entanglements. I support Trump's efforts here 110%.

It's time...

Agreed. The American people have been overwhelmingly dead set against Obama and McCain’s Syrian adventure from day freakin one! It might be nice for congress to DO AS TOLD!

Obama’s goal in Syria was to remove Assad so he could install the muslim brotherhood in “the arab spring”

We should never have been in there in the first place.

Syria was NOT causing international terrorism trouble, and their people were not a problem.

If you say Syria wasn’t an international terrorist problem you’ve had your head in a bag for several decades.

The Hamburg cell to which 9/11 hijacker leader Atta belonged was under two people, both Syrians. One was the spiritual leader of the cell, the other was a ‘former’ Syrian intelligence official and businessman.

Where do you think the Imad Mugniyeh of Marine barracks bombing infamy was when he finally got his dirt nap in Feb 2008— just after a meeting in Damascus with Syrian generals?

Guess where military chaplain/imam Yee was headed with his charts of cell locations and prisoners stolen from Gitmo? To the Syrian capital, where Yee had earlier been educated in his new faith by a government funded Syrian cleric?

Based on very recent history (China) yes, he’s serious.

Foolish woman.

And the irony is those colonizers are being invaded and taken over by those same people whose countries they plundered.

More proof, if any was needed, that Trump makes his decisions on not he believes is right for America and not for political considerations. What a rare bird is he!

No I don’t trust Erdogan and I’m sure POTUS doesn’t either, but my guess is Trump laid down the law of the land with Erdogan ahead of time and made it clear what the consequences would be if he didn’t stay within bounds.

Based on very recent history (China) yes, he’s serious.

Trump always has taken a serious tone when talking about China. He didn't here. He's been specific about what he expected from China. He wasn't here. This is Trump trolling at its finest.

Foolish woman.

Silly man.

“So then Erdogan can release them?”

Heaven knows. He’s used terrorists in the past & cooperated with AlQaeda . He may allow some of them to accidently escape.
