In a sign that the right-wing media's relentless defense of President Donald Trump may be cracking, Fox News host Tucker Carlson published an op-ed with Daily Caller co-founder and publisher Neil Patel zinging Trump for his call with Ukraine's president. "Donald Trump should not have been on the phone with a foreign head of state encouraging another country to investigate his political opponent, Joe Biden," Carlson and Patel wrote. "Some Republicans are trying, but there's no way to spin this as a good idea."
Carlson and Patel added, "Like a lot of things Trump does, it was pretty over-the-top. Our leaders' official actions should not be about politics. Those two things need to remain separate. Once those in control of our government use it to advance their political goals, we become just another of the world's many corrupt countries. America is better than that."

Really? Poking fun at liberals is akin to throwing peanuts at the peanut gallery.
It is of my opinion he is GOP-E.
It may have been inappropriate but what Biden did is illegal. Tucker wobbles from time to time.
Secondly, lets be clear.....Fox is corporate media just like NBC, CBS, ABC. They are in the biz of making money...period. It happens their brand was .....Fair and Balance but they dropped that.
Dont ever forget this ......Fox is in the biz of attracting the MOST viewers.
If they could beat CNN with the same liberal crap....they would. Fox is a corporate machine. Stop thinking Fox is some kind of conservative think tan.
I'm down to Lou Dobbs and Hannity.
It will be interesting to see if they rein in Judge Jeanine tonight.
Rush totally supports Trump. Anyone who listens to his show knows it.
I see it like this. If a US President has info that leads him to think someone running for the highest office in the land is massively corrupt, like the Biden’s clearly are, then it’s his duty to expose that corruption and let the American people decide if they want someone corrupt for President. Obviously many do because surprisingly Hillary got more than 50 votes.
Looks like this is being taken out of context. I think what Tucker is saying is that what Trump did was stupid but not worthy of impeachment. Actually on his shows last week he was making fun of Democrats. He even had a montage of Pelosi saying it was a sad day calling for impeachment of the President.
+++++
I agree with you. I dont think most Freepers bothered to read past the first paragraph. Thats where Tucker states that Trump did something stupid. Im sure Trump though he was on a secure line and there would not be any leakers. If that was the case then I dont see anything stupid about the statement.
But it was the case. So the stupid tag looks appropriate. Not to me but to Tucker.
But note that the rest of the article is very pro-Trump. Tucker Carlson is about as left-wing as Barry Goldwater. The idea of giving up on Fox because of this article is insane. We have Fox, Trump on Twitter and Free Republic on our side. I wouldnt mess with that.
Until I see video, I don’t believe it.
Are people here so quick to buy what CNN is selling?
#FakeNews
I like The Five (except for j williams & d brazille), Dobbs, Carlson, Hannity and Ingraham weekdays and Watters World, Judge Jeanine, Greg Gutfeld and Levin on weekends. I also listen to Dan Bongino’s podcasts.
I don’t have tv, so only watch when posted online. You have to watch all these shows within a few hours, except for Bongino, as they get edited down to 2 seconds or deleted altogether.
I’ll check out a few of the others that were mentioned in this thread. Thanks FR
CNN?
Who believes this?
Apparently a bunch of knee-jerkers who you would think would know better.
Every night on his show he rails against the the total nonsense of this impeachment con game by the rats.
I like Tucker. Do I agree with everything he says? Of course not. But he shows up the idiocy of the left nearly every night, and is not afraid to laugh out loud at their hypocrisy. I think he’s wrong about the phone call, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t even like Trump. But I think he has enough integrity to defend him and his policies most of the time, in spite of that, because it’s the right thing to do. And I call that fairness.
He’s obviously being sarcastic. It’s easier to see on television than in print. On t.v., it’s obvious he thinks Hunter Biden is the scum of the earth.
Thanks for posting the whole article. As I said, Tucker is always fair.
He lives in the D.C. area.
I did not hear him say that.
I’m glad Rush backs Trump, but he did not do so, until he started getting a lot of flack for NOT supporting Trump, as Trump’s support rose. He may be a strong supporter now, but it’s pretty clear to me that he stuck his finger to the conservative wind, and decided to jump on the Trump bandwagon when he saw the one he was previously hitched to, was about to go over the cliff. Maybe he was honestly swayed. I hope so.
Check out his editorial, posted on this thread in post 85by Jane Long:

Inappropriate is not the same as illegal.
Agreed. Carlson may not be a hard core conservative but he is hardly an enemy of President Trump, who he clearly supports in the impeachment debacle.
The knee-jerk reaction to any criticism of Trump, real or perceived, by anyone considered even mildly conservative, be it Tucker Carlson or even the venerable Rush Limbaugh, makes no sense.
The instant protestations and promises of abandoning Fox News because a ratings star like Tucker Carlson offered a mild criticism of the wisdom of the president specifically asking Ukraine President Zaleksy to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden (with good reason) does not make Carlson an enemy of Trump or a tool of the left. I find such allegations a bit overwrought.
Then again, FR is an opinion site and if all posters were in lock step it would not be the interesting site is is.
