An official inquiry is really Nancy announcing that they couldn't get documents and information about Trump they have wanted all along and by doing this they will now have access to build whatever case they hope will produce info to further advance their election goals... for 2020.

...remember just before this announcement Nancy proclaimed that Trump cannot be elected...He mustn’t be elected...while the host was questioning her about impeachment...so she laid it right out there this is about the election.
