According to Channel 13, 97.6% of the votes from Tuesday's elections have already been counted, Blue and White stands at 33 seats and Likud at 31 seats, with Blue and White leading by a narrow margin. It is important to note that these are still not the final results.
Overnight, the committee was counting the near quarter of a million soldiers' votes cast by Israeli soldiers.
The Central Election Committee (CEC) has been updating its website since the close of the polls at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. The last update was at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday: 4,354,991 votes had been counted or 68.11% of the ballots cast.
The current official results according to the CEC (with mandates/seats according to Channel 13):
CEC CONTINUES TO COUNT BALLOTS, NETANYAHU - GANTZ STILL AT STALEMATE As of this morning: Blue & White is ahead with 33 seats, Likud has 31.
Final polls show PM on verge on blocking majority Israeli election pits Trump, Obama pollsters against each other

American left system of keeping certain (Dem) polls open in inner cities, or recount until Dem wins.....
I am afraid the American people who allow this and simply shrug or wink about the inner city types getting privileges are people with nothing to be proud of.
Others fought to create this republic and still others o lose blood, limbs or their lives to keep it. Then complacent, passive losers destroy it to bring in Communism.
Same is true in Israel where in 1948 all the Arab countries ganged up to destroy her, and in 1973 and then in suicide bombings. All that valor to defend the one and only Jewish state could go down the drain if peace creeps give it all up. God forbid.
Thanks very very much for that link. What a tremendously informative and readable article(s).
Here is a quote from one of the two articles:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not lose and his challenger, former IDF chief of general staff and Blue and White faction chief Benny Gantz did not win. Despite the fact that Blue and White won 33 seats in the 120-seat Knesset to Likuds 31 seats, Gantz cannot form a government under any circumstances. He cannot build a majority coalition.
Wednesday Netanyahu assembled the heads of all the right wing and religious parties that form the basis for Likud-led governing coalitions. The factions unified into one right-wing bloc and agreed on principles for future coalition talks. They agreed to conduct coalition talks as a bloc, under Netanyahus leadership. By forming this 55-member bloc, Netanyahu created a situation where he is the only possible prime minister. Either the Blue and White Party or one of its three factions joins him, or Amir Peretz and Orly Levy bring the Labor party in, or Israel goes to new elections. Those are the only options.
In other words, its either going to be Netanyahu or elections. Its up to Gantz, and Peretz.
They also “lose” or delay ballots from opposition counties
Thanks Freedom'sWorthIt.
You’re welcome. See Malach’s post #64.
The only two possible options are evidently either Netenyahu as Prime Minister or more elections according to Malach- since the Labor Party would never join Bibi’s coalition.
Thank you to Malach for clarifying the situation.
Sorry for misspelling his name - it is Netanyahu not Netenyahu.
What is the main Arab political party in Israel?
Do the Arabs ever officially align themselves with a Jewish political party?
If they do not align with other parties, they still vote, correct?
I presume the Arabs vote most often with Israel’s Political Left. Is that correct?
Weasley Clark was a general and look at him.
Sorry - I am not clear on any of the Israeli governmental situations. Maybe others can answer your questions.
The Arab parties (13 seats) have endorsed Netanyahu's rival Benny Gantz.
First time the Arabs have done that in three decades.
Apparently, they hate Netanyahu so much, they broke their long tradition of never endorsing a Prime Minister.
The election estimate is now Gantz at 57 seats, Netanyahu at 55.
A majority requires 61.
From the AP: “Maverick politician Avigdor Lieberman, head of the mid-size Yisrael Beitenu party, controls the final eight seats, making him the key power broker.”
Lieberman says he will not endorse any candidate, but I'm not sure what that means for his seven colleagues.
Thanks for that update.
