California landlords would no longer be allowed to reject prospective tenants solely because they hold federal Section 8 housing vouchers under a bill passed by the state Legislature on Wednesday.

My guess is these legislators have never rented to a section 8 family.

Yah, you get your rent but it doesn’t make up for the damage they do.

Then when they leave and move on to destroy someone else’s property they leave your house full of trash and filth.

You are typically in the hole at least a few thousand dollars of repairs and clean up. Probably some pest control services as well.

Most of these vermin don’t care about your property because they know that they will not be held responsible for the damage they do.

There is one house on my block that was sold to a real estate “investor” about 15 years ago.

He split it into 3 apartments and started renting Section 8.
At least twice since then he has had to basically gut and remodel the entire place after a tenant moved out.

One family lived there with a slutty 18-ish daughter. She would ply and cajole local hormone-laden yutes into fighting for her affections. You could set your watch by a loud fight outside that house every night, 30 minutes after bar closing time when a spruned beau would show up beating on the door, challenging the one in her bed to fisticuffs.

I was amazed that house did not mysteriously burn down. The only one on the block that has been any trouble.
