RINOs would drop the demand for universal ID and voter ID at the first “outrage” for the Rats.

I have always wondered why you can’t just pass one background check and have a code on your DL that indicates you are a law abiding citizen unlikely to commit a violent crime.

“As soon as Democrats agree to Federal Government-Issued Photo and Fingerprint ID for every voter in America”. Hol-ditt! The Rats will lie and “agree” to ANYTHING, and then renege. We’ll maybe do it AFTER every voter HAS Gov’t-Issued Photo and Fingerprint ID, and not before every i is dotted and every t is crossed! No more democRAT promises or pinky swears. Lies are democRATs and mooslims’ stock in trade!

I won't give them anything. That's just a first step to their "Grand Scheme" of eventual confiscation.

I can tell you at this point, there will be hell to pay if and when Democrats, Republican #senatormikebraun or any of the rest of the closeted gun grabbers push us too far.

It is my God given right to protect me and mine.

They will not leave me out here to be another casualty of another of their fake crisis du jour.

They sky is falling! It's a "crisis" It's always a crisis when they want to take our rights away all the while they seem to not have anything taken away from them.

I was in a good mood until about the 4th gun grabbing story came up this morning.

Here in Baton Rouge over the weekend a good kid, a working student from LSU was shot while he worked at a store during the night. They shot and killed the boy before they robbed. Yes. I wonder if those punks have gun licenses, locks, ammo under a concrete barrier or even gave a damn about their "laws"

Of course you all know the answer to that and I'd love to throw those kind of stories, clippings from the Chicago and other big Democratic cities along with the stories of how a concealed weapon carrier saved someone, right up their snotty, holier than thou noses.

Btw, I don't live in Baton Rouge. I'm not that stupid but there are good people stuck there.

Amen.

I don’t have “Constitution given” rights.

I have God-given Natural Rights.

Rights the Constitution are supposed to protect...not grant.

Let’s up the ante a little and toss in nationwide conceal carry.

And there it is conveniently located way down the home page: only $49. You are asked to follow 3 simple steps, but step 2 is a repeat of step 1. Inspire confidence?

Nope.

I'm not interested in anyone working to bargain my rights away.

I don't care how good a deal they think they're getting, I'm the one "getting it".

It is a clever talking point, but not a great law.

Perhaps a better approach would be the blind prohibited persons database proposed years ago. Instead of having a system where only dealers can do look ups, and the process involves a lot of unnecessary information, like the type of firearm and details about it, there should just be a database listing prohibited persons.

Anyone could look up people in that database at any time. And the look ups should be anonymous, but each should generate a cryptographic key signature so you could print out the response from the database and keep it as proof you did the look up.

With such a system the only law needed is that prohibiting sales to prohibited persons. Any smart seller would check before a sale, as would any smart buyer. Anyone who felt their own record was wrong could take legal action to correct it.

Having a printout of the look up results saying "not prohibited" would be proof that the seller complied with the law. Likewise for a buyer.

Such a database would also be very useful for other functions, like identifying illegal aliens, and it could be used by anyone for any purpose. Even during voter registration, for example.

Also, everyone would be in the database - no exceptions. So you could check to be sure someone was enabled to buy NFA weapons, for example.

We all know that the Democrats would agree to that. What’s really interesting, is that some people using FR want to find out what the consequences would be for passing such an agreement into law.

For one, the Democrats would take the executive and legislative branches in 2020. That’s a certainty. What’s even more interesting, is that some FR subscribers want to find out what the consequences for that would be.

You make your bed, you’ll lay in it.

The only wrinkle in that plan - it is nearly impossible for seniors to get a valid birth certificate as the standards for acceptability have so drastically changed; Certs issued in the 40s and 50s are no longer acceptable.

I was born at home in 1938 and have a real Birth Certificate. I doubt my parents ever had one because they never needed one we were America then. There are probably more non native born here now than there were citizens back then.

How about if you’re convicted of a violent felony, life in prison without parole?

Want to stop the mass murders? How about passing a law to round up all of the users of federally illegal drugs and put them in camps? Might as well toss all who beget illegitimate children in with them, since that’s where the superpredators are coming from. How about universal paternity tests to facilitate that?

And get rid of the 19th Amendment, while we’re at it.

Sounds very much like a Real ID. The only wrinkle in that plan - it is nearly impossible for seniors to get a valid birth certificate as the standards for acceptability have so drastically changed; Certs issued in the 40s and 50s are no longer acceptable. If the hospital they were born in no longer exists, or the records where otherwise destroyed, or if they have to prove who they are by presenting the hospital with a valid ID (a birth cert) they are out of luck and are effectively non-citizens.

That's a dilemma and nightmare I am going through right now. I was born in Germany in the 40's and have only a non certified copy of my BC that I have no way of getting another copy. The one copy I have is from INS records from my naturalization.

I did get all my paperwork copies from INS so you would think getting a real-id would be no problem. WRONG, the birth cert. shows only my German name and all the naturalization papers show my name as it was changed by the adoptive parents.

Right now I am fighting the adoption court in the city I was adopted in for a valid certified court order changing my name. The records are all sealed, adoptive parents long deceased. I cannot get a real ID yet because I have proof of birth under one name, proof of citizenship under a different name and no physical proof how the name was changed. I need the real-id by next year as I need access to the federal building for access to the Veterans Admin. and access to the military base which I have now via a DOD ID that is not considered as valid for real-id.

So, I am waiting the adoption court to unseal the adoption files and provide me a certified copy of the legal name change order.

The naturalization certificate was good enough to get me into the Army at 17 under the adopted name, but not good enough to get a real-id state drivers license. Enough to make you pull out what hair you might have left. I still have a year to fight this administrative fustercluck and get it done.

The shootings that have happened are far too coincidental to not have had outside influence.
