That’s a little strong. Mattis didn’t stab Trump in the back. He provided his warriors opinion, and when Trump said he wanted to execute differently, he offered his resignation. Both men are right, they just disagree.
As far as the political issues, Mattis, being a true warrior, probably just didn’t want to deal with the politics, and there were plenty of legal issues to be dealt with before anyone could kick out trannies in any case.
I think you and I would be on the same page regarding the trannies in the military issue, but as Donald Rumsfeld once said, you go to war with the army you have. And Mattis was focused on the war. Not the politics.

Just curious, since you claim to be an Army Colonel, where and when did you exactly get your commission and what university did you attend that got you your necessary degree to become a commissioned officer?

Yep, ISIS, and its multi-year war, was the direct result of Obama wanting to keep his promise of withdrawing all troops from Iraq. He didn’t care how many people would die. He had a political promise to keep to his fanatical base voters.
