Epstein was running a classic honeytrap. He most likely was working for either the US government or the Israelis or both as a freelancer.

He obviously liked having sex with very young girls too. He started working out of a townhouse in NYC in the 1990’s where he had some type of relationship with the US State department who paid his rent of $15k/month. He was living right off Park Ave. He then set up a ranch in New Mexico.
Finally on an island in the USVI’s between St. Thomas and St John.

This is a classic way that has been used for centuries to control powerful people that have a certain weakness. They let the little head do the thinking for the big head.

He was arrested in 2008 in Florida for having sex with a minor. He was given a slap on the wrist because he had a lot of powerful friends that did not want their name to come out under discovery or testimony by his associates.

Yes, and - yet another coincidence - both fixers, Bill Barr and Ken Starr, were members of that law firm.

The cookie-cutters here denounce that as arguing guilt by association. Taking it in pure isolation (as they are so conveniently wont to do), it would be.

Putting it in the light of their entire careers, it is just another coincidence too many.

Ken Starr in 1994 blocked Miguel Rodriguez from investigating the death of Vince Foster as a murder tied to the Clintons.

Bill Barr defended pro bono Lon Horiuchi, who assassinated Vicki Weaver at Ruby Ridge as she stood on her own porch with her daughter, not a rifle, in her arms.

I consider both Starr and Barr to be on the side of the Swamp, not the Stars and Bars.
